WELL DONE JOHN!
Dr John Gilbert completed his trek in Ethiopia's Simien mountain range. He climbed the two highest peaks and, so far, has raised over £1,600 in sponsorship for Goli Hospital in Southern Sudan.
John was part of a group, most of whom were younger and fitter. He was doing this as a first fund raising effort soon after retiring from his GP practice in the Wesdt Midlands. Makinig such steep ascents and in such youthful company gave John some concerns but he felt elated when he reached the summits and gained a real sense of achievement.
Well done John. Enjoy the rest of your retirement!
