Essential to the work of Medic Assist International are short term volunteers.  These are people who give a minimum of a week and a maximum of a month to work alongside our Partners and their staff.

MAI volunteers fund their own travel and living expenses while MAI provides orientation, travel and local arrangements and insurance.

MAI volunteers contribute either medical or building skills.

You Can Help!

MAI is a voluntary organization. There is just one member of staff because our goal is to maximize our support to our indigenous Partners. So we are dependent on many individuals who support our aims.
That is where YOU come in! What may seem a small contribution to you can make a huge difference to someone suffering ill health in the developing world.
You can become a Volunteer with MAI on this page.  But that may not be you. However, you can still help our Partners.

You can Give!

Most of our Partners are operating healthcare initiatives that need a significant period of support until they can develop the means to ensure sustainability. As a result, there is a need for regular financial support to cover the costs of items such as ante natal care, home care provision for Aids patients, regular treatments for diseases such as TB, down to the provision of regular health education among the poorest peoples.

Additionally, one off gifts can help to secure the development of new health institutions; the developing world continues to need simple primary healthcare clinics and mobile units to reach remote areas.

Giving through MAI is one of the safest ways to support healthcare in the developing world. Our Partners are extremely trustworthy. We are working with these Partners because we know them well and visit them frequently. Whatever we send them makes an actual impact on the ground; our funds are not lining pockets. MAI retains just 11.6% of any donation devoted to a particular cause so as to ensure the good management and monitoring of the Partner projects.
