VIOLENCE IN TEREKEKA, SOUTH SUDAN

Violent clashes between the Dinka and Mundari tribes have left many dead and at least 4,000 people displaced from their homes.  The Government of South Sudan (GoSS) has appealed to the churches, including MAI's Partner, EPC, to pray and assist.  EPC has a work in Terekeka and will do all it can to respond.  The danger is that the continuing violence may jeapordise the elections due in early 2010 and the subsequent vote on secession in 2011.
