GOLI CHILDREN'S WARD PROVES ITS WORTH

Kamala in our picture is 4.  She was admitted to the Children's ward at Goli Hospital with malaria and a severe fever.  She had been ill for several days before her mother brought her to the Hospital.

The child was extremely weak and staff were very concerned that she would not survive.  She was admitted immediately and given IV fluids and quinine.

Although she looks a little sad in the picture (with Timothy, the Clinical Officer in charge) because she did not like the camera, Kamala's five day stay proved a life saver.  Her mother said that the staff had explained the importance of bringing the child for medical treatment quickly.

"I am so grateful for this hospital which has saved my daughter.  My aunt died recently from malaria; I don't know what I would have done if my daughter had died from it too."
