EMBO PATIENT FLOURISHES

The young woman in the picture was critically ill, suffering with AIDS, when she became one of the Caregivers latest clients.  She was admitted to the Hospice as a result of her Caregivers intervention.  Thankfully, after three weeks, she was able to go home.

Home for her is a small shack where she is looked after by her mother who has a part time job and shares with her 4 siblings, two of whom are still at school and the others are unemployed.

Her Caregiver was able to get her onto antiretroviral drugs and she is responding well to the treatment.

Since July, the 10 volunteer Caregivers have all gone full time, funded by MAI.  Your support of this project is enabling them to give much more time (as was needed) to each of the 300 clients for whom they care.  Last month, almost 1500 visits were made thanks to your support and these visits save and transform lives, like that of the young woman featured.
